LED Light Therapy is one of the most effective, easy, relaxing ways to reverse the signs of aging.

We are often asked “how and why is it an anti-aging facial?”. This blog will hopefully answer your questions and help you understand the power of LED light therapy.

What is it?
LED light therapy is a non laser light source with a variety of anti-aging advantages and medical benefits. Like lying under a sun bed, a series of carefully positioned lights are placed across and over your face, approximately 3cm to 4cm away from the skin. The lights deliver a pure, optimised, narrowband of light to encourage the skins cellular response.

How does it work?
A 13minute to 20minute treatment time, the patient must not be wearing any make up or SPF protection on the face. The treatment itself is very relaxing, with no downtime.

The LED light targets the cells that are specifically responsible for the synthesis and repair of the skin’s supportive structures.
There are three light options available yellow, red and blue.

The different lights emit wavelengths that stimulate different cellular responses within the cell, repairing the skin’s supportive structure with patients seeing softer fine lines, visibly improved skin tone, and fullness.

The results are not temporary; patients will see continued improvements 4 to 6 months following a series of light treatments.

What does it do?

Yellow light: By stimulating the deeper skin tissue the yellow light leads to softened fine lines, improved skin tone and texture.

Red light: The cellular activity is stimulates increased blood flow, leading to increased tissue oxygenation and detoxification. The skin will appear clearer with less fine lines, plumper and hydrated.

Blue light: Specifically designed for acne, patients will see a reduction of inflamed lesions 8 to 16 weeks following their first treatment.
The blue light stimulates the bacteria responsible for the inflamed acne, neutralising them.

The light also works to target the sebaceous glands to create an environment that is inhabitable for the growth of acne.

The lights can be used in combination during your treatment regime. Your dermal therapist will explain the benefits of the combination if suitable for your treatment plan.

Suitable for?
The LED light therapy is suitable for all skin types, all ages and both men and women.

For those searching for a non invasive way to target fine lines, skin texture and various skin conditions, such as acne and mild cases of eczema and rosacea.

How often?
For optimum results patient will be prescribed between 8 to 16 treatments that must be completed 48hrs to 72hrs apart.

If you’re looking for more rejuvenation a normal facial can’t offer, but not quite ready for the more intrusive procedures. The LED light therapy is for you to enhance your skin, reduce fine lines, wrinkles and improve skin tone and texture.
