Tear Troughs (Under Eyes)
The eyes are the window to our soul so it makes sense to ensure what surrounds this window is beautiful, youthful and fresh. For a fresher and youthful appearance around the eyes dermal fillers can be used to treat hollowness, darkness and sagging skin under the eye.
A series of small injections of dermal filler are injected between the rim of the cheekbone and the eye to correct for hollowness and sagging. You will be offered a choice of permanent or semi-permanent fillers.
What to Expect After Treatment
Injectible fillers are usually visible instantly, however depending upon which product is used and client’s individual goals it may take 2-3 sessions to achieve desired results.
Some of the initial plumping you may experience will be due to swelling, it’s common to experience some swelling and bruising in the first few days post treatment when there are multiple injection sites. To minimise this, patients are advised to continue icing the sites and are advised not avoid exercise or consume alcohol immediately after treatment.
Patients should avoid smoking, aspirin, vitamin E, anti-inflammatories, herbal supplements and other medications that promote bruising and we recommend clients use arnica cream post treatment. You can call our clinic anytime to gain pre-treatment tips to help reduce the possibility of bruising.
In order to fine tune the results additional follow-up treatments may be necessary. Working in conjunction with the patient, we prefer to give our patients a more natural look when using dermal fillers. We can then build upon the treatments as the patient adjusts to their new look, this also allows for patient feedback and direction.
Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should seek a second opinion from an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
