Vascular/Vein Removal (Nd-Yag Laser Treatment)

Nd-Yag Laser – Vascular Treatment for Spider Veins, Leg Veins, Rosacea and Pigmentation

How does it work?

Nd-Yag Laser Treatment uses a specialised vascular laser that specifically treats the deeper tissues and longer vascular structures other lasers fail to reach. The Nd-Yag is most effective for the facial treatment of rosacea and general pigmentation and can also be used on other regions of the body to remedy spider veins, small angiomas and neovascularization (the area surrounding scars.)

Vascular Lesions

• ND:YAG can be used to remove spider and thread veins in the face including areas such as the cheek, temporal region, nasal dorsum and forehead and is also effective on the leg area.
• Some vascular birthmarks (capillary vascular malformations)
• Facial veins (telangiectasis)
• Haemangiomas (vascular tumours) in the face and around the mouth

What does the treatment involve?

Lasers work by emitting a wavelength of high energy light which, when focused on a certain skin condition, will create heat and destroy the targeted cells. The benefit of Nd-Yag is that it produces two wavelengths at high-intensity, short-pulse intervals, which enables its laser beam spot size to be increased by up to 10mm – which is much larger than many other lasers before it.

Nd-Yag is as versatile as it is effective – the successful removal of small red vessels is achieved in only one to three sessions and it is gentle enough for use on the face, temporal region, nasal dorsum and forehead as well as on the body and legs.

Please note for your safety a patch test is required on a separate day before treatment can commence.

What results can I expect?

Although multiple treatments are required for premium results revisiting Nd-Yag won’t compromise the skin of the body. In fact, the Nd-Yag Laser is thought to be the safest laser for hair removal on darker skins and deeper tans as it has much less of an adverse effect on pigment than other lasers.
